# User Studies

> Synthetic user studies for agents: persona chat, brief idea suggestions, adaptive interviews, browser tasks, desirability reactions, and illustrated storyboards. Generated responses are hypotheses, not real customer evidence.

## Agent integration

1. [Install the User Studies skill](https://userstudies.ai/skills/userstudies/SKILL.md) in your agent client's skills directory.
2. [Register the MCP endpoint](https://userstudies.ai/mcp.md) `https://userstudies.ai/api/mcp` (Streamable HTTP).
3. [Generate an agent token](https://userstudies.ai/agents.html) and configure it privately as a Bearer header. It is revocable and expires after 30 days.
4. Verify discovery of `chat_with_persona`, `generate_brief_idea`, `start_study`, `get_study`, `stop_study`, and `list_storyboards`. Both the skill and authenticated MCP connection are needed.

## Site tabs and agent tools

- Chat: `chat_with_persona` sends one turn; pass the returned `completePersona` and prior turns on the next call.
- Brief sidebar: `generate_brief_idea` suggests one Persona, Problem, Promise, or Product field from the conversation and current brief; review the suggestion before using it.
- Task: `start_study` with `mode: "browser_task"`; poll `get_study` or stop with `stop_study`.
- Desire: `start_study` with `mode: "desirability"`; inspect synthetic responses with `get_study`.
- Storyboard: `start_study` with `mode: "storyboard"`; use `list_storyboards` for history and `start_study` with feedback plus `parentStudyId` to revise. Fetch private panel image URLs with the same Bearer token.

`interview` remains available as a complete moderated study. It differs from turn-by-turn Chat.
